The Galbani Italian Heritage Festival kicks off today in their new location! After years of the festival taking place on Hertel Avenue the festival moves to the Outer Harbor this year! Jessica Ruth, Promotions & Events Marketing Manager for Lactalis American Group, Inc. spoke on the new location saying,  “The new location provides a beautiful backdrop of the lake, a lot more space for the event itself, an amazing waterfront feel for festival-goers, and closer proximity to the Canadian border and also the south towns.”

The festival will run daily from 11am-11pm through July 16th.

You'll find all your favorites about the festival still taking place in their new location!

Competitions include:

  • Bocce ball Tournament
  • Italian Idol
  • Miss Italian Festival

Activities:

  • Cultural heritage activities
  • Local entertainment
  • Crafts
  • Grape stomping contests
  • Sicilian puppet shows
  • Italian car show

You'll be able to catch a  live performance by Sal Valentinetti, who was a finalist on “America’s Got Talent,” Season 11 on Saturday, July 15 at 7pm!

Also, don't forget about the Celebrity Galbani Cheese Building Contest on Sunday, July 16 at 2pm. WYRK's own Dale Mussen will be involved so make sure you're there to cheer him on!

Another greta part about the festival is the continuous live cooking demonstrations that go on throughout the festivals run! Looks for the time of the next cooking demonstrations when you arrive at the festival.

Parking:

DRIVE:

Parking at the event is FREE! However, coordinators of the event are warning people about the parking situation. There is only one way in and one way out of the Outer Harbor by vehicle so if you are coming to the festival think about carpooling and be patient. There is a parking plan in place but because of limited access it might take you a little longer.
