What’s the most stressful job? Firefighter? Police officer? Corporate executive? Good guesses, but according to a CareerCast.com survey it’s a job in the military. Enlisted military personnel is how it’s listed. Simply put – a soldier.

CareerCast.com rated more than 200 jobs based on the work environment, competition within the career and the personal risks of the job.

Considering all those factors, jobs in the military emerged as the most stressful.

  • Senior corporate executive

  • Newspaper reporter
  • Taxi driver
  • Police officer

How about low stress careers? For minimal health risks, a pleasant work environment and high growth opportunities, the survey finds nobody has it better than a university professor. Wouldn’t that be a great job? How many times when you were going to college if the professor didn’t feel like showing up that day – they didn’t.
