It's still summer and the forecast is calling for a steamy afternoon all over Western New York!

With highs in the upper 80's and plenty of humidity to go with it, the heat index should be in the mid 90's today.

But that might not break the record. As a matter of fact, this date, August 27th, has been the day in history that Buffalo reached it's highest temperature of all time-99 degrees!

It was August 27, 1948 that Buffalo recorded it's highest temperature and still has yet to officially reach 100 degrees. yes, I am sure you have seen bank signs or even the thermometer in your vehicle say 100 or better. But the National Weather Service records it's official temperatures at The Buffalo Airport.
