Over the weekend my family and I did something really special. We spent Sunday fishing on Lake Ontario in search of King Salmon, Coho Salmon and Steelhead. Our fishing party included my wife Debbie, our children Tyler and Shelby and our good friend Jim Gesel.

We departed Olcott harbor at 6am aboard the Kingfisher boat with captain mark and first mate Shannon. The Kingfisher is a 33 foot fishing vessel that is equipped with everything you need for a successful day on the water. We spent over nine hours on the water and the weather was perfect. Even though the temperatures were warm, the wind whips up pretty good on Lake Ontario. Very glad we brought our jackets.

We took a total of eleven fish including three King Salmon, one Coho Salmon and the remainder all Steelhead. Jim got the largest fish: A King salmon that weighed over 20 pounds. I grilled up some of the Steelhead last night for dinner and it was delicious. This was Debbie's Mother's day present and we are thinking of making this an annual fishing trip.
