The best areas to see it was northern Europe, the Scandinavian countries and Great Britain.  This year's one and only solar eclipse happened early Friday morning.  We couldn't see it here in our area because it happened before sunrise.  It began at 3:22 am Eastern time with its peak at 4:36 am.

The only place in the world where it was a total eclipse was in the Arctic region.  Unfortunately for many areas the skies were cloudy.

A video out of Great Britain captured the entire event from beginning to end.  If you have the time you can view all 3-plus hours.
