Academy Comes to Seth MacFarlane’s Defense

Seth MacFarlane has been facing some criticism for the jokes he made while hosting the Oscars.  Two lawmakers from California, Bonnie Lowenthal and Hanna-Beth Jackson, felt that McFarlane went too far with his song "We Saw Your Boobs" and his jokes about Rihanna and Chris Brown.

Now, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has come to Seth's defense.  An Academy rep told TheWrap.com that they think Seth and the producers "did a great job" and that the Oscars are about creative freedom.
