I am not much of a TV watcher, but there are just a couple of episodic television shows that I do watch. Tonight is the final episode of 'Rescue Me'; a show created by comedian Denis Leary. I have been a fan of his for as long as I can remember. Watching Denis evolve from a comedian to a TV writer, producer and actor has made me become even more of a fan. Denis Leary is absolutely brilliant. His creation 'Rescue Me' is about a New York City firehouse and its crew post 9/11. The show deals with the personal issues of these firemen brought on by 9/11: their suffering and pain, their triumphs and tragedies. I have grown to love this show over the years. My son and I have watched every episode. While it is sad to see it go, one must realize that there are only so many stores and plot twists you can have before a show becomes repetitive and redundant. Denis Leary's decision to end the show now is a smart one, but we will miss the characters of 'Rescue Me'. The show will always be a tribute to the 343 FDNY members who perished on 9/11. God Bless the FDNY.
