Barely a year after breaking his leg in a sprint car accident in Iowa, Tony Stewart was involved in a fatal accident at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in Ontario County in New York State Saturday night.  Another driver who had just crashed into the wall was walking on the race track when he was struck and killed by Stewart.  The other driver appeared to be pointing out Stewart as the one who pushed him into the wall when he stepped into the path of Stewart's car and was struck.

20-year old Kevin Ward, Jr. died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.  No charges are expected to be placed, but the investigation is continuing.

Following the accident a spokesman revealed Tony Stewart would be behind the wheel of the Number 14 Chevrolet in Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen, but a visibly upset Stewart decided to pull out.  Competition director for Stewart-Haas Racing Greg Zipadelli said at a news conference that Stewart "feels strongly" about not racing Sunday. "He's going through a tough time. It's emotional for him."

Regan Smith will replace Stewart in the driver's seat.

The video of the crash is graphic.  Discretion is advised.
