Trace Adkins brought the gift of the England-originating carol 'I Saw Three Ships' to the 2013 'CMA Country Christmas' special, joined by special guest Alyth McCormack.

McCormack is a Scottish singer and actress, and it may seem like an odd pairing to have Adkins' gravelly vocals blended with her crystal clear voice for a gorgeous collaboration. However, it turned out to be a wonderful set -- and after the duo's performance, we think that every country crooner should collaborate with a Scottish vocalist.

Adkins sported his black cowboy hat and a cranberry blazer for the 2013 'CMA Country Christmas' event, while McCormack was flawless in a pale gray sleeveless dress. With a fiddle player backing their pitch-perfect number, the carol sounded both sentimental and sweet.

The singers sang standing on separate areas of the stage until the end of the song, where they joined hands and sang to each other for the last few lines.

'I Saw Three Ships' is on Adkins' Christmas album 'The King's Gift,' available now.
