I hate to fly.  I've said it before and I'll say it again.  The reasons that I hate it are 50% because I don't trust my life in the hands of technology that puts me thousands of feet in the air and the other 50% that I don't trust is other people.  I was for the body scanners that the TSA was using to screen passengers. Now they're going to be removed.

They were controversial because people compared them to a strip search where the screeners could see every part of your body.  It was said that it violated personal space and the rights of the fliers.

I'll take it.  I'd much rather have to deal with a little bit of embarrassment than someone who wants to harm me by bringing weapons on a plane.  I'm just not a shy person.  There's not much that embarrasses me.  So the concept of walking into one of those body screenings never affected me.

That being said, I can't remember a story where the body scanners foiled an attack.  Has anyone ever been busted by them?  It's not to say that it hasn't happened.  I guess I've just never heard of it.
