Uber is getting a big push in the right direction from one Buffalo Councilman.

Councilmember Joseph Golombek is proposing an Amendment to the City Ordinances that would make it legal in Buffalo the minute Albany gives everyone the green light to have ride-sharing. According to WGRZ:

The Amendment would include “Technology Network Companies” – or app-based ride-sharing companies – in the law that governs Buffalo’s transportation and livery services.  It would require ride-sharing drivers to obtain a license issued by the Commissioner of Permit and Inspection Services, and would require criminal background checks.

The amendement would certainly push the conversations in a forward, positive direction in Albany. Plus, Buffalo would be ready to "go full-throttle forward", as Golombek says.

Governor Cuomo has recently praised his support for Uber and ride sharing programs for the rest of New York State and says that people need to call local lawmakers and stress the need and desire for such.
