Jesse Lind is this week's Vehicles for Vets finalist. Stacey Fitzpatrick made the nomination and tells us Jesse broke his back in three places while on active duty leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.  Despite the odds he now walks with canes and leg braces. He went on to college, earning a bachelor's degree, and got married and has two children.  He taught both of his sons how to ride a two-wheel bicycle from his wheelchair.

Jesse competes annually in the National Veterans Wheelchair Games.  Last year he earned a bronze medal in archery.

There is nothing this man cannot do when he puts his mind to it.  He is the perfect example of overcoming tragedy and making the best of your circumstances.

The Basil Family of Dealerships has partnered with the Veterans One Stop Center of Western New York for “Vehicles for Vets”; a summer long promotion in which a veteran or active serving military member can win a new vehicle!
