Residents in Alden will need to boil their water for the next couple days.  According to WIVB , officials who were testing the water found strands of E. Coli bacteria in the water and immediately took the well out of service.

After further inspection, an animal’s nest was found near the well.  The animal will be trapped, and the nest will be removed.  However, it may take more than a few days before the well is safe to use again.

Water used for personal consumption should be boiled at a rolling boil for at least a full minute before drinking, using to prepare food, making ice, washing dishes or brushing your teeth.
