Here it is! We need your vote to determine Buffalo's Best Man Cave! We had such a great response to this that it was hard to narrow it down to just three finalists. Instead we went with five -- and here they are!

“My man cave is a place to go to get away from it all. Unwind after a hard day at work, relax and catch a few games. The man cave includes a fully stocked bar, fridge, microwave and popcorn machine to keep you hydrated and full. There’s a bathroom downstairs, so no need to go upstairs and miss any action. Dimmer switch lights and neons keep the room lit up. There’s a leather couch, two leather rocking chairs, four stools, one bar and a pub table for extra seating -- and of course that futon couch in case you want to crash. A man cave cannot be complete without two side-by-side 47-inch TVs with surround sound. Nothing like catching two games at once. You can even watch a movie or turn on the PlayStation and watch that Sabres game at the same time. It keeps everyone entertained.”

“I converted 800 square feet of unused space off of my garage into my man cave. The floor is stamped concrete, and the ceilings are 9 feet high. The bar is 12 feet long, handmade from bottom to top, with all preserved barn board from the 1940s. The whole man cave is painted in Sabres Blue & Gold! There is a 46-inch LED flat screen behind the bar, and at the other end of the man cave is a 32-inch flat screen with a PS3 and a Wii hooked up to it! There is even a full bathroom in my man cave! Off the back of the man cave is a sliding glass door, which leads outside to a 750-square-foot stamped concrete patio! The man cave is decorated in plenty of Buffalo sports paraphernalia, and as any good man cave should be...a fully stocked bar and beer fridge!”

“My man cave – a.k.a.. ‘The Penalty Box’ – displays the Buffalo Sabres theme throughout. It has a bar top made of 2,150 bottle caps with a shamrock; and American flag; and Buffalo spelled out in blue and gold. I carry on the hockey theme in the form of a hockey rink game room with a top dasher wide enough to hold your beverage of choice. The man cave has a theater room with theater chairs for comfort, a popcorn machine for your movie snack and movie posters displayed around the room.”

From Paul’s wife: “My husband has always wanted a basement bar, and in 2006, he started planning. He started his man cave with four cement walls and one large blank canvas. We began looking at auctions and estate sales for old bar items for the walls and shelves, where we found our gas pump, street light, dinner bell and various other odd, fun, bar-themed things. It took him a little over six months from start to finish. Every piece of ceiling, baseboard and bar was hand cut precisely and built by my husband. Even his bar was hand built, starting with 2x4s and a vision. It was a lot of work and effort and an enormous amount of planning to complete his dream bar. It is amazing when you walk in and even better in person. Our friends have enjoyed our numerous parties that have been held in Paul’s Pub since its completion in November 2012.”
