You can never be too safe.  It's a phrase that the security team at the Walden Galleria are taking to heart as they hold a "Lockdown Drill" tomorrow, March 30.

They cited "recent world events" as their reason for holding the drill to be sure to keep both the businesses and the people as safe as possible should something drastic happen at the mall.

According to WGRZ-TV, the drill will take place at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday as the security team joins with the Cheektowaga police.

They understand that this will be an inconvenience to both the customers and the businesses but need it to be as close to the real thing as possible for the simulation to have its maximum effect.

"it must be done during open hours to realistically analyze the drill and make preparations should a real event take place."

The mall security director said the drill should last about 15 minutes but will involve a "large police presence."
