My daughter has fallen in love with this experiment!  It's a homemade slime or Gak that you can make yourself.  Unfortunately, it could also be dangerous for your kids to play with.

We thought she was just learning about science with things that she found around the house.  But after reading this article, it's all going in the trash.

As it turns out, the homemade slime can actually be very dangerous.  It's made from Elmer's glue, water, and borax.

The article claims that the borax in the experiment can cause eye, respiratory, and skin irritation.  It also mentions that it can be linked to hormonal disruption, reduced ovulation and fertility in females, and decreased libido and sperm count in males.

While it's probably not the end of the world if they come in contact with the slime for a little while, to play with it for an extended period of time could cause some problems.

I'm not saying it's bad to experiment with things to see what science has to offer.  All I'm saying is maybe to leave the experiments with chemicals to your teachers kids.
