It only took a week for a country act to cover Beyonce's song "Daddy Lessons." During their show in Manchester, England, on Saturday night (April 30), the Dixie Chicks performed the country-tinged track.

The Chicks stayed faithful to the pop star's original version of the song, and although Natalie Maines missed her intro, the rest of the cover was pitch perfect. The country trio's harmonies work wonderfully on "Daddy Lessons," and hearing Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison cover the tune confirms what Twitter knew from the start: Beyonce crafted a total country jam.

“And he taught me to be strong / He told me when he’s gone / Here’s what you do,” the chorus of "Daddy Lessons" goes. “When trouble comes in time / And men like me comes around / Oh, my daddy said shoot / Oh, my daddy said shoot.”

"Daddy Lessons" comes from Beyonce's brand-new album, Lemonade, which the superstar dropped as a surprise on April 23.

The Dixie Chicks are currently touring Europe as part of their DCX MMXVI World Tour. The trek began in mid-April in Belgium and will hit North America in June, with dates scheduled through early October.
