Weather Causes Train to Derail in Chautauqua County

The black ice in Western New York on Tuesday caused dozens of accidents on the major thruways, a major care pileup on Milestrip and even a train derailment in Chautauqua County near Shaver Street and State Street in the Town of Ripley.

County officials are asking people to stay clear of the area due to a HAZMAT leak. Residents living within 1,000 feet of the accident have been evacuated. Luckily nobody was injured, but Route 76 is closed in both directions in that area
