Charismatic, personable, driven, confident without being cocky.  Rex Ryan can be described in many ways, but one thing's for sure - he made a very good first impression when he was officially introduced as the new coach of the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday.

Among the things we learned during the press conference - Ryan knows a lot about the history of the Bills back to the AFL days, mentioning the names of Billy Shaw and Jack Kemp.  He remembers attending Bills games when his dad was a coach and remembering the passion that Bills fans regardless of the weather.  And he knows the frustration that Bills fans have after 15 years out of the playoffs.

One thing he did promise - thru work and preparation no team will match the work ethic of the Bills and he won't let the fans down.  Ryan says come September the Bills will be ready.

To other teams Ryan says get ready. The Bills are going to be bullies. They're going to bring it.  He admits getting fired is personal and it's embarrassing. He comes in with a chip on his shoulder.  But even more than the Jets he most wants to beat the Patriots.

From Terry Pegula we learned he was shocked at learning Doug Marrone was resigning, but along with team president Russ Brandon, general manager Doug Whaley and his wife Kim they flew all over the country to do interviews.  When all was said and done they decided a veteran coach was the best fit for this roster and Ryan was the best of the bunch.

Pegula says he wants the Bills to be a nightmare to play against and it certainly sounds like he's got the right guy to deliver that wish.  Pegula also revealed that Ryan asked his realtor what area receives the most snow because that's where he wants to live.

I have to admit Ryan wouldn't have been my first choice, but he's got fans excited about what's to come.  I personally can't wait until late July and training camp at St. John Fisher to see his plan in action.
