Prince William and Katherine in Ottawa Celebrating Canada Day [VIDEO]

Just as we Americans are about to celebrate our nation's birthday, there are big doings up North as Canadians are celebrating Canada Day. The citizen's of Canada's capital are being treated to a visit from the Royal couple William and Kate. Actually the city of Ottawa is experiencing Kate-mania.  According to the Globe and Mail,an estimated crowd of 500,000 will be on hand to welcome the Royal couple at Parliament Hill at noon today.

 Ever since the death of Princess Diana, many people have felt a sense of something missing within the Royal family. I think most folks would agree that Kate has brought that excitement back. And her sister Pippa has also brought new life to"royal watching".

A crowd of excited well-wishers greeted the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the first stop on their Canadian tour.

The royal couple also met with young volunteers from across Canada at a barbecue reception in Ottawa's Rideau Hall.
