Many of you may seen Niagara Falls lit up at night.  The The Niagara Falls Illumination Board has been operating and financing the illumination since 1925.  But tomorrow, The Falls and a few other landmarks in Western New York will be illuminated in yellow for a special reason.

It's World Suicide Prevention Day tomorrow (9/10/14).  So expect The Falls to be lit up in yellow in recognition of this important day.  In addition to The Falls, The Electric Tower and The Peace Bridge will also be lit up in yellow.

Did you know that 80% of people who have completed suicide gave some sort of warning to others?  It is the 3rd leading cause of death for those between the ages of 15 and 24.  It is estimated that for every completed suicide, there are approximately 25 attempts made.

It's time to bring an end to it.  For more information on Suicide and suicide prevention go to Crisis Services or call 834-3131.
