Let's face it. It's annoying when someone tells you they're going to show up somewhere and they don't--especially, when they have to pay for it.

A five-year-old was invoiced for not showing up to his friend's birthday party by a mother and threatened legal action. The mother gave 5-year-old Alex Nash an invoice for $24. According to BBC:

[It] was sent by his schoolfriend's mother Julie Lawrence, who said Alex's non-attendance left her out of pocket and his parents had her details to tell her he was not going. Alex's father Derek said he had been told he would be taken to the small claims court for refusing to pay."

Legal professionals say that there's no way that there would be a court date set for this because there was no contract stating an agreement. Imagine a contract between 5 year olds to go to a birthday party.
