It seems like you can't keep up with technology.  As soon as you decide to upgrade your phone, another announcement comes out about an even newer phone!  But that's not as frustrating as what Apple just admitted about your old phone.

It often feels like when those new "updates" come out, they tend to slow your phone down.  Suddenly your phone will begin to "glitch out."  It makes you feel like they're doing it intentionally to get you to buy a new one.  Doesn't it?

That's because it's true.

According to CNN Money, Apple admitted that they are actually slowing your old iphones down with those updates.  But it's not for the reason you think it is.  They claim it's to keep the battery from peaking and shutting down the phone completely.

Apple Executive Doran Myersdorf used the term "smoothing out" to describe the updates.

"The inevitable outcome of it will be an inherent slowdown of the average response times by the system," he explained.
