The Zac Brown Band were nominated for eight awards at last night’s American Country Awards and five at last month’s CMA Awards in Nashville, plus one award at the American Music Awards. Today, their mantle looks the same as it did two months ago. The band tweeted about their recent run of bad country music awards luck.

“On a 14 award losing streak. Does that make us eligible for the Andrew Luck sweepstakes?” they said in a tweet, referring to the practice of the NFL team with the worst record getting a chance to choose first in the April draft. Stanford University quarterback Andrew Luck is favored to be the top pick. One quick-itted fan responded with “No I think that makes you Susan Lucci.”

While the CMA Awards are voted on by industry professionals, the ACA Awards are decided by fan vote. Jason Aldean proved to be the big winner, taking home six awards — including Artist of the Year, one of the awards the Zac Brown Band was up for.

It’s possible they knew they weren’t going to win any country music awards hardware last night, as very few of the non-winners were present for the second annual Trace Adkins-hosted ceremony.
