Has anything like this every happened to you?

A mom in Missouri says she "cried all night", understandably upset, when she read a UPS notice indicating that the Android tablet she purchased for her daughter’s Christmas gift was left “in black trash can". Of course, as you can imagine, it didn't end up well.

She didn't see the notice in time before the garbage truck came and took it away, and now she says she wants something to be done.

"I called them that night and they put me on hold, then they hung up on me after sitting on hold for about 20 minutes. So, I called back and sat on hold for another 10 minutes, which just made things worse because I was already upset. I was trying to talk to the guy on the phone and he’s like, ‘You’re going to have to calm down. I can’t understand what you’re saying.’ And I’m like, ‘Well you don’t understand.’ But it was, it was awful. It was probably the worst feeling", she told KTVI.

And everyone knows that telling someone to calm down when they're already livid NEVER makes matters better anyway. It's not like a lullaby at bedtime, that's for sure.

But, what did UPS do? They said they would definitely replace it for her and get it to her before Christmas. They also explained they are sorry and that the drivers are trained to put packages not in plain sight and where they will not get wet.

Now, although the garbage can wasn't the brightest idea, can we can all say at least he was trying?
