Belding, Michigan Is Having the Same ‘Redskins’ Debate as Lancaster, NY Did

Nearly the exact same story. Different town.

After the debate stirred up, the Belding School District decided it would tone it down a little and not use the Redskins logo as much as possible and use a 'B' instead to represent the district.

Many tax payers were not happy with all of the spending on new equipment and uniforms to go along with the movement and many alumni were protesting the change.

The Lancaster Legends finally ditched the 'Redskins' name in 2015 after a long, heated debate over the nickname. Looking back on the whole saga, was it worth the fight? Is it still worth the fight to get the 'Redskins' name back?
