Brett Eldredge and Kellie Pickler found themselves the subjects of a Twitter break-in over the weekend. On Saturday evening (June 4), the country singers fell victim to a hacker who took over their accounts, tweeting to other artists, as well as posting vulgar messages.

According to the Boot, one message sent from Pickler's hacker to Taylor Swift read “I hope you die @taylorswift13."

Meanwhile, Eldredge's hacker specialized in gibberish. One message suggested the country singer reach out via direct message. “I’ll help u bruh,” the hacker told Eldredge. “u could keep deleting tweets I didn’t even secure ur acc hahaha,” another tweet read. Nashville Gab has some screen shots of the since taken-down tweets.

By Monday morning (June 6), each artist had regained control of their respective accounts. Eldredge let fans know that tweets are now coming from "the real me."

The hack came days after Eldredge was nominated in the new category of Social Superstar at the 2016 CMT Music Awards. The award can be voted by fans on Twitter and Instagram by using #CMTawards + #VoteBrett. The "Wanna Be That Song" singer is well-known for his fun updates on Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter — Thomas Rhett even credits Eldredge as the person who convinced him to use Snapchat more often.

“I never even wanted to use Snapchat until I was on the road with Brett Eldredge and noticed that he literally did it all day long, and when he got in bed he would … ‘Hey, I’m goin’ to bed,'" Rhett says. "But, it’s such a fun way to just … ’cause you can only post so many Instagrams a day, but you can literally Snap a thousand things a day and it only lasts for the day and it’s like seven seconds long."
