Hostess has issued a recall for thousands of Ding Dongs over possible mold issues.

Hostess' parent company, J.M. Smucker Co. issued a voluntary recall over several products that could have the presence of mold.

The recall only affects Ding Dongs. Here is the list of products that are part of the recall.

The following chocolate Ding Dong products were included in the recall:

  • Hostess Ding Dong 6 count: 2.55 oz twin packs, carton (15.3 oz)

UPC: Twin packs: 00888109010027 | 6 ct.: 00888109011857

Lot numbers: 5167832, 5168832

  • Hostess Ding Dong 10 count: 1.28 oz, carton (12.7 oz.)

UPC: 00888109110611

Lot numbers: 5167832, 5168832, 5169832, 5170832, 5171832

  • Hostess Ding Dong 16 count: 1.28 oz, carton (20.31 oz)

UPC: Individual unit: 00888109011826 | 16 ct.: 00888109110925

Lot numbers: 5167832, 5168832, 5169832, 5170832

The best-if-used-by dates span from August 30, 2025, to September 3, 2025.

If you do have one of the recalled products, you should not eat it. Take them back to the point of purchase for a full refund.

Food Recalls In New York State

This recall is just one of many food recalls this year across New York State. It was just a couple of weeks ago when Wegman's issued a recall over certain cheeses due to possible contamination with Listeria.

There were the cheeses recalled:

 

  • Wegmans Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese (8.8-ounce) with UPC “77890-53515” and best-by date 7/26/25, 8/12/25 or 8/19/25
  • Wegmans Assorted Cheese Flight (1-pound) with UPC “2-77100-00000-0”
  • Wegmans Grilling Camembert with Tapenade & Roasted Tomatoes (10-ounce) with UPC “2-77297-00000-0”
  • Wegmans Caramel Apple Pecan Topped Brie Cheese (13-ounce) with UPC “2-77645-00000-3”
