Great News For Buffalo Bills Rookie Following Freak Injury
The Buffalo Bills had a scare at training camp yesterday when their first-round draft pick was injured during a non-contact drill. But today they received good news about him.
Maxwell Hairston has had a lot of eyes on him during his battle with Tre'Davious White for a starting role this training camp, but not nearly as many as when he left the field injured.
Most people didn't even see him get injured
It was described as a non-contact injury. Some of his teammates described it as a freak "trip-up." it was a drill that they had done multiple times and one that they had even done during mini-camp this spring.
Today, doctors gave good news
While many assumed it might be an ACL injury for the young player, some are reporting that it wasn't as serious as initially thought. An ACL injury could have kept Hairston out for the entire year, but it appears he could be back very soon.
An LCL sprain is much less serious than an ACL tear and could heal soon enough for him to be back on the field before the regular season.
Most would expect that the Bills will slow-play his return. Tre'Davious White has been getting a lot of praise for "looking like the old Tre'Davious" during training camp and anticipate that he will be the starter in week 1 when the Bills take on the Ravens.
There is still a lot of time left before that day comes, though. While the Hairston update is good news, the Bills will have to do what they can to help keep these players healthy, as the injuries are quickly beginning to pile up.
