As she continues to struggle with postpartum depression, Hayden Panettiere is turning her focus to holistic methods. On Thursday (May 12), the actress and singer revealed that she's stepping away from the spotlight to focus on healing.

In a tweet, Panettiere writes that her battle with PPD "has impacted every aspect of my life." However, "rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms, I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life." According to Yahoo, the star has entered a treatment facility in Utah.

Panettiere and longtime fiance Wladimir Klitschko welcomed their first child, Kaya, in December of 2014. The following September, Panettiere shared that she -- like her Nashville character, Juliette Barnes -- dealt with postpartum depression following the baby girl's birth.

“When [you’re told] about postpartum depression, you think it’s, ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child,'” she said at the time. “I’ve never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on."

In October, Panettiere voluntarily sought help for her PPD, checking herself into a treatment center. Earlier this year, things seemed to be looking up for the actress, who walked the red carpet for the first time since her treatment at January's the Critics’ Choice Awards.

“The only important thing to me is that I’m not causing myself pain and discomfort anymore, and I can be a strong woman for my daughter to look up to,” Panettiere said at the time. “It would horrible for me to be going, ‘You can be whomever you want! You can do whatever you want in life!’ yet I was unable to follow the same words.”

Panettiere's news came on the same day that ABC revealed the cancellation of Nashville, following four seasons. The show's May 25 Season 4 finale will now be its series finale.
