How Many Photos Have Been Taken? [VIDEO]

When I was a kid, my father gave me a 35mm camera that he had bought while living in Germany. I probably snapped a few thousand photos with that camera. I took it with me everywhere and was constantly taking pictures of whatever activity I was doing at the time. I still have that camera, although I have not used it in years. When was the last time you actually bought film?

I am still taking lots of photos today, but on a digital camera. We have three digital camera in my house right now and I would like to get another. My computers at home are filled with literally thousands of photos. With Facebook, Twitter and the Internet, we are all taking thousands of photos. That got me thinking about how many pictures we have taken as a society.
