Prepare Your Appetite: Buffalo Restaurant Week Starts Monday
The weather’s getting a little colder, and it’s getting darker earlier. No one wants to cook!
Instead, take advantage of the specials available next week at establishments across Buffalo and into the suburbs as part of the fall edition of Buffalo Restaurant Week.
From Monday, October 14 through Sunday, October 20, restaurants will have special prices on meals, with some offering specials on lunch, others on dinner, and some featuring deals on both.
While Buffalo experienced a tourism boom last year, with almost half of the $2.4 billion in tourism spending coming from food and drink orders, it’s where the locals go that can help influence the gems our out-of-town friends find when they visit the Queen City.
And what better way to find your next favorite place to catch a bite than trying a new restaurant or bar? That’s the advice from Patrick Kaler, president and CEO of Visit Buffalo Niagara. Local restaurants need the support of people who live here to keep the doors open, the lights on, and the rave reviews coming in.
More than 100 restaurants already have signed up to participate, ranging from Chef’s downtown and the Eagle House in Williamsville to new favorites 42 North Brewing @ The Flats, a tap room on Main Street downtown featuring food from the team behind Fat Bob’s Smokehouse, or the new Orchard Park location of Lockport’s New York Beer Project. The full list of options can be found here.
Kaler is encouraging people to consider going out more than once during Restaurant Week. “I usually like to try a new restaurant I haven’t been to before,” he said during a press conference this week.
Or consider trying a new dish from an old favorite, like the Bangladeshi, Indian, and Pakistani cuisines offered at As-Salam Diner and Kebab House, where delicious naan is the foundation of a wrap and vegetarian curries are beside spice-marinated dishes roasted to perfection in clay ovens, or the steak and falafel on the menu at The Rose downtown.
There are a ton of specials available, some of which include a beverage for the price of a dinner, and so many restaurants to choose from, it’s best to start reviewing the options now!
