It is going to get cold, really cold in New York State over the next several days as a massive arctic front is set to sweep across the state.

Some weather models are calling for extreme cold for much of the state with possible temperatures dropping into the single digits and below.


 

This wide range of chilly weather is expected to move in this weekend impacting the Western part of New York State first and then moving across the state by late next week.

Temperatures on Sunday could be in the single digits with those temperatures expected to drop on Tuesday. In fact, Tuesday could be the coldest day of the year so far in New York as this arctic front makes it way across the region.

So far January has been very cold for the most part across New York State with the average temperature remaining below average for much of the month.

So make sure if you are doing anything outside this weekend and next week you bundle up.
