The Miami Dolphins got a little bit bigger on their defensive line and a little more insight into what the Buffalo Bills do after stealing a player from the Bills' practice squad.

On Wednesday, the Dolphins announced that they signed defensive lineman Justin Zimmer from the Bills' practice squad.

Zimmer signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and since entering the league he has played on several teams, including three stops with the Buffalo Bills.

Since 2016 Zimmer has played with the New Orleans Saints, Montreal Alouettes of the CFL, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, and now the Miami Dolphins.

Zimmer has not played in any games for the Bills so far this season and in his 6-year career, he has played in 21 games and recorded 34 tackles and two sacks. He might be best known for causing the Cam Newton fumble against the New England Patriots in 2020 at home that help the Bills win that game.

While Zimmer might not be a major loss on the field for the Buffalo Bills, the information that he takes about the way the offense and defense are run will be very valuable to the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins are currently in the lead for the AFC East crown and are in the second slot for the seeding of the AFC playoffs.

The Dolphins beat the Bills at home earlier this season and if they want to win the AFC East they will mostly have to beat the Bills at home coming up next month.

Having someone who knows the Bills' playbook will be very valuable heading into that game.
