Record Heat On The Way To Western New York
Today will be a hot one, the hottest day of the week and possibly a record-setting day in Western New York.
As temperatures soar today, there is a good chance that we could end up setting the new daily high temperature at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. That is the location where all weather records for Buffalo are observed.
The current record high for July 24th is 91 degrees, and that was set back in 1945.

With the current forecast, we could get really close to tying that number or even breaking it.
There is already a heat advisory in place for parts of Western New York including Niagara and Orleans Counties. The heat advisory has been issued between 11 am and 8 pm, and it could be expanded and extended based on how today goes.
Those storms will help bring down the humidity and the temperatures a little bit. Today's high for Friday is 85, which is well below the record of 93 degrees set back in 1917.
