Massive Sale of Items in Buffalo Bills Stadium Ahead of Demolition
Fans are going to have the chance to buy some of the items inside of the current Highmark Stadium, including the chairs that are currently there before officials knock the stadium down.
Crews started groundbreaking on the brand new stadium across the street from the current one on June 5, 2023. Now, just short of 2 years later, the plans are in the work for what is going to happen to the old stadium:
Bills and Sabres COO Pete Guelli said that the plan is to knock down the current stadium in March of 2027. Then they will sell items off. Erie County owns the stadium and will be selling items through the Bills. According to the Erie County Executive:
Items that are valuable in the stadium, which seats are, we have to sell those. The Bills may be in charge of it through a third party, but then the proceeds will come back to the county so we are expecting the seats will probably be sold and people will have an opportunity to purchase those.
What are the going to do with the space that the current stadium is in once it is knocked down?
Once the new stadium is up and operating, the Buffalo Bills say that they will knock down the current stadium and make room for parking for the new stadium. Will there be enough time to clear out the debris and make a parking lot? If they knock down the stadium in March and want the parking lot to be ready by the time that pre-season comes around in August, that only gives them about 4 months. Not to mention, the Buffalo Bills announced that they are trying to do an event BEFORE the season begins so that it is not a 'cold' opening for the beginning of the Buffalo Bills season.
What are you going to be able to buy from the stadium before it is knocked down?
The seats that are in the current stadium are going to be available for sale! Apparently, they are going to be selling 'valuable' items, which mean more than just the seats might be for sale when the time comes.
