Gov. Andrew Cuomo started the “Get On Your Feet” program this year and it was officially passed in the budget April 1, 2015.

Kids are living with their parents closer to their 30s now and finances are a big reason for that. It's hard for a person to afford their bills, car, house AND be paying off that $40,000 college tuition they just finished with an entry level job. So, New York State wants to pay your loan for you. It's a win-win: you get your college paid for and New York State gets a person more likely to contribute to society and the economy.

Requirements:

1.) You had to graduate in New York.

2.) You have to live in New York for two years following graduation.

3.) Must be enrolled in the federal “Pay As You Earn” program.
