Last Friday night it was a combination of bad luck and bad goaltending that contributed to a humiliating loss against the New York Rangers.  Monday night against the Winnipeg Jets, the Buffalo Sabres got great goaltending from Jonas Enroth, but the Sabres couldn't finish the chances they produced and the Jets walked away with a 2-1 victory and a season sweep of the Sabres.

Enroth faced 39 shots against Winnipeg and made some incredible saves, some he didn't even see and even one he stopped with his butt with his back turned to the play.  But with the score tied at 1-1 in the third period a screened shot dribbled thru his legs and into the net and that was the difference.

In the final 30 seconds Thomas Vanek had a great opportunity to tie the game and he described what happened.

Steve Ott has emerged as a clear candidate for captain of the team.  He spoke about how bad it hurts to miss the playoffs.

Just two games left.  The Sabres are in Pittsburgh tonight in the make-up of the game they were supposed to play on Saturday.  Pittsburgh already has the top seed in the playoffs while the Sabres are out, so they're just playing out the string.  The Sabres awful season comes to an end Friday at home against the Islanders.
