According to an email sent to parents last night by Sweet Home Superintendant Anthony Day, the family includes two children who are students at Sweet Home Middle School.

Day also stated in the letter that the family has not shown any symptoms of the virus.

A Sweet Home family that includes two middle school students is currently participating in a voluntary quarantine protocol after returning from a trip to Italy during the recent February break. No one in the family has or has ever demonstrated any symptoms of the virus. However, the family is cooperating fully with the Health Department authorities and will remain in the voluntary quarantine until the two-week incubation period for the virus is complete.

WIVB has also reported that several Amherst High School students who were part of a school trip to Italy last month are also under voluntary quarantine.

According to the CDC, symptoms of the virus could appear anytime between 2 to 14 days after contracting the disease.
