It’s time once again for the Hometown Hero brought to you by Batavia Downs Gaming.  This week we honor an Airman Radar Technician Specialist in the Air Force.  Orignally from Buffalo, our Hometown Hero is Sgt. Elijah Ginter.

A group of firefighters were standing in line waiting to pay for their groceries when a call came in. They all had to rush out to tend to the emergency, and upon their return to pay for and pick up their groceries, they had already been paid for.

No American ever wants to see a soldier have to be buried. However, if it has to be done, most people wish that it could be done with honor. That's just what our Hometown Hero does. Today, we honor Senior Airman Michael Bauch as this week's Hometown Hero.

Col. Kurt Hammer is currently serving in his 37th year in the Air Force, which began in 1976. He has been at Niagara since 1980 and is the longest serving member at Niagara Falls Reserve Station ever at 32 plus years. After 37 years in the Air Force, he has shown thousands what it means to fight for something you truly believe in.
