Pretty cool crowd was sitting in front of us at the Sabres game last night.

Ryan Miller was the starting goalie for the Buffalo Sabres for 12 years. He just announced his retirement from the NHL and over the weekend, got a touching sendoff from the L.A. Kings.

Defenseman Brandon Montour will have one more year on his contract before he becomes a restricted free agent after the end of the 2019-2020 season.

The Sabres dominated the game, outshooting the Ducks 45-28 and scored twice on the power play.

The Buffalo Sabres have enough problems scoring against their opponents, but they make it doubly hard on themselves when they score into their OWN net.

Benoit Pouliot scored in the final 30 seconds of the second period and the Sabres held on until Johan Larsson scored into an empty net to clinch it.

The Buffalo Sabres salvaged the final game of their California road trip with a 2-1 shoot out win over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night.  Zemgus Girgensons scored the winning goal as each team used 10 players in the shoot out before the issue was decided.  That's the fourth career shoot out goal for Girgensons and each of them have been game winners.

No magical comeback this time.  Instead of building on the excitement of Tuesday's come from behind win over San Jose, the Buffalo Sabres laid a great big egg in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Anaheim.

Passes that are a little off, shots that are a little wide.  The Buffalo Sabres played a good game against the red-hot Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night, but not good enough to beat them.  Anaheim's Sam Vatenen scored a second period power play goal and the Ducks defense made it hold up in a 1-0 win over the Sabres for Anaheim's sixth straight win.

Another game ending in a shut out at First Niagara Center, but this time the Buffalo Sabres came out the winner.  After falling to New Jersey 2-0 on Tuesday night, the Sabres put together a shut out of their own on Thursday night, this time against Anaheim 3-0.

Nice rebound by the Sabres after those two awful games in Florida.  Tyler Ennis scored twice.  Nathan Gerbe and captain Craig Rivet each scored their first goals of the season.  Drew Stafford opened the scoring with a power play goal.  Sabres beat Anaheim 5 to 2 Tuesday night.
