The key was a decision to stay on the track instead of pitting for tires when Kyle Larson hit the wall with 25 laps to go. Kyle Busch along with his brother Kurt, Daniel Suarez and Paul Menard made the risky decision and it paid off.

Busch's sixth career victory at the half mile track, but first win since last year's Daytona 500.

It was a long couple of days in Bristol, Tennessee as the weather delayed the finish of the Food City 500 until Monday afternoon.

The completion of the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway will be completed on Monday after officials postponed the race after the third red flag of the day because of rain.

After Sunday's rainout, Monster Energy Cup drivers were greeted by a beautiful day at Bristol Motor Speedway on Monday and it turned out to be a perfect day for Jimmie Johnson who won his second straight race.  Johnson led 81 of 500 laps to claim his 82nd career victory putting him just one behind Cale Yarborough and two behind Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip.

When the rain stopped and the track was dried at Bristol Motor Speedway late on Sunday afternoon Kevin Harvick took control and led 128 laps on his way to his second victory of the season and the 33rd of his career.  Harvick finished nearly two seconds ahead of 2nd place Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.

Add Carl Edwards' name to the list of drivers guaranteed a spot in Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship at the end of the season.  Edwards led from the pole and dominated Sunday's race at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Edwards led 276 of 500 laps for his fourth win at Bristol and the 26th of his career.

For the second year in a row Joey Logano has won the Sprint Cup night race at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Logano put his car in front on the last restart of the 500 lap race and held off Kevin Harvick seemingly at every corner for the final 63 laps.  It's Logano's third win of the season and second in last three races.

It was a big weekend for Penske Racing at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Joey Logano became the fifth driver to win three Sprint Cup races this season when he held off teammate Brad Keselowski Saturday night.  Keselowski won the Truck Series race and Penske driver Ryan Blaney took the Nationwide event for a clean sweep.

Two more races left before the start of the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship and Denny Hamlin has pulled into a tie with defending champion Tony Stewart, Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson each with 3 wins this season after Saturday night’s race at Bristol. Hamlin took the lead with a pass of Carl Edwards with 39 laps to go and held off the rest of the field the rest of the way for his firs

The racing this weekend at Bristol should be different from what was seen back in March. Since then the concrete surface was shaved down to bring back the kind of racing that fans used to love at Bristol – all the fender bumping and grinding.
