Charlie Daniels, frontman for the Charlie Daniels Band, is speaking out about his feelings on the 'Duck Dynasty' controversy, going as far to say "it's a sorry day in America."

Charlie Daniels said he was ready to rock after his pacemaker implant, and he meant it. The country music icon announced the lineup for the annual Charlie Daniels Band & Friends Christmas 4 Kids benefit concert, and in addition to the Charlie Daniels Band, it includes Justin Moore and other favorite acts.

A pacemaker won't slow Charlie Daniels down. The Charlie Daniels Band frontman says his fiddling or movements on stage won't be compromised with the device implanted in his chest. He underwent the procedure last month after being hospitalized with pneumonia. He returns to the stage Friday night (April 12) in Verona, N.Y.

The last hour of voting during the finals of March Bandness was frenzied, to say the least. Thousands of fans of Alabama and the Charlie Daniels Band cast a ballot in the waning minutes. The boys from Fort Payne, Ala. were trailing until the end, when they surged ahead and took the title of Best Country Band of All Time.

Country legend Charlie Daniels is expected to remain hospitalized until Friday as he recovers from pneumonia and a pacemaker implant to regulate his heart rate. The singer was admitted to a Nashville area hospital on Monday (March 25). He says he hadn't been feeling well.

Yesterday afternoon I was making the drive from the WYRK studios in downtown Buffalo to Artpark in Lewiston. Between the accidents and the rain, it took me an hour and 20 minutes to complete the trek.  After I arrived at Artpark, I began to wonder whether this concert would actually come off.

If you were listening to Wide Open Country on Saturday morning, you may have heard me speaking with Charlie Daniels in the 8 a.m. hour. What a thrill for me, as I have admired this man and his music for so long.

One of the biggest icons in the country and rock world is Charlie Daniels. The man has been making incredible music for over 50 years. He has had numerous hits on both the country and rock charts. Not that many artists have had anywhere near the success that Charlie Daniels has had...

Friday night when I played The Friday Night Fight I had said that I thought Jimmy De Martini from The Zac Brown Band was the best fiddler in country music.  Immediately I thought, "well hang on now, you might be forgetting someone."  What about Charlie Daniels???  Doesn't he set the standard for fiddle players in country music?
