The incredible season of Martin Truex, Jr. continued on Sunday in NASCAR's playoff opener at Chicagoland Speedway.  Truex won the race by a margin of more than seven seconds, but he had to overcome a speeding penalty and a return to pit road because of loose lug nuts.  He had the speed in his car to battle back.

For a time it looked like Denny Hamlin's chances of winning Sunday night's Southern 500 evaporated when he missed pit road for his final stop for gas and tires.  But his big mistake set himself up for a huge comeback.

It was a race of fuel strategy as Martin Truex, Jr. drove to his fourth win of the year in taking Sunday's I Love New York 355 Monster Energy Cup race at Watkins Glen.  While he conserved fuel over the final laps he allowed Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney to pass him, then waited for them to run dry.  The plan worked to perfection as Keselowski, then Blaney had to pit while Truex took back the lea

Finally a victory for Martin Truex, Jr.  For the fourth race in a row Truex led the most laps, but Sunday at Pocono Raceway he not only led 97 of the 160 laps, but came thru with a win to break a 69-race winless streak and came just days after he lost his grandmother. ...

Finally, Martin Truex, Jr. is back in victory lane. He ended a 218-race winless streak with a convincing win in the season’s first road course race at Sonoma Raceway in California. He led 51 of 110 laps for just his second career Sprint Cup victory and at the finish he had an 8.3 second lead over second-place Jeff Gordon.

A big win in Atlanta Sunday night for Denny Hamlin. His fourth win of the season will mean at least a tie for the lead heading into the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship after next week’s race at Richmond. It’s amazing the way changing weather conditions can affect a race car.  Yesterday when a mostly cloudy day at Kansas Speedway turned sunny – it was good news for Denny Hamlin.  For most of the race he was chasing Martin Truex, Junior and kept thinking to himself something needed to change and it did.  The sun came out and Hamlin says his car responded.  He was able to pass Truex and hold on for h
