It was a complete about-face from the last time they played in Montreal.  Just 10 days after the Buffalo Sabres stunned the Canadiens with an overtime victory, it was a different story on Tuesday night as the Sabres turned in one of their worst games in weeks giving up three goals in the second period in a 5-2 loss.

It was a goaltender's duel in Montreal Saturday night and for a change the Buffalo Sabres' goaltender emerged as the winner as the Sabres beat the Candiens 3-2 in overtime.  Zach Bogosian's first goal of the season on a pass from Ryan O'Reilly was the game winner as the Sabres avenged an opening night loss to the Canadiens.

It was a huge sell-out season-opening crowd for Thursday night's Buffalo Sabres game at Key Bank Arena and the Sabres gave the fans absolutely nothing to get excited about in a 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.  Well, there was that power play goal by Matt Moulson at the beginning of the third period to cut the Canadiens lead in half 2-1, but that was about it.

The Montreal Canadiens 3-2 win Thursday night at the Bell Center was overshadowed by a scary injury to Montreal defenseman P K Subban.  The star Canadiens player suffered an apparent neck injury when he collided with a teammate while tangled up with the Sabres' Marcus Foligno late in the third period.  The game was held up nearly 15 minutes while medical and training staff from both teams attended

Since January the Buffalo Sabres have been battling up from the bottom of the standings and last night finally pulled into a tie with the Washington Capitals for the 8th and final playoff spot.  Rookie Cody Hodgson scored twice - his first goals as a Sabre - while Ryan Miller stopped 34 shots for his 6th shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

It was the Tyler and Tyler show at First Niagara Center Monday night.  Tyler Ennis scored twice in regulation while Tyler Myers scored in overtime to give the Sabres a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens for Buffalo's fifth straight win on home ice.  It moves the Sabres to within two points of Washington for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 12 games left to play.
