Unlike the game Wednesday night against the Montreal Canadiens, the Buffalo Sabres were rewarded for their effort Friday night in a hard-earned 3-1 against the Ottawa Senators.  Sam Reinhart led the way with a goal and an assist while Chad Johnson stopped 30 of 31 shots to pick up the victory.

A wild finish, but finally goaltender Robin Lehner picks up his first win as a Buffalo Sabre.  It didn't become official until the referees checked the video and found that what appeared to be the tying goal by the Ottawa Senators crossed the goal line a tenth of a second too late.  Lehner finished with 34 saves.

Another one of those rare occasions when the Buffalo Sabres are on a winning streak.  They battled back from down a goal in the third period to beat the Ottawa Senators Friday night at First Niagara Center 4-2.  After Ottawa scored an early third period goal to take a 2-1 lead, Steve Ott scored for Buffalo to tie it.  Then Brian Flynn and Jochen Hecht scored back to back goals 12 seconds apart to
