Sabres Announce Release Of Darcy Regier, Hire Two Sabres Alumni
It's now official. The Darcy Regier era is over at First Niagara Center.
Coach Rolston
The Buffalo Sabres made it official on Tuesday by removing the interim tag and naming Ron Rolston the team’s permanent head coach. Rolston took over the team in February after the dismissal of Lindy Ruff and led the team to a 15-11-5 record in the 31 games he was behind the bench. Rolston becomes the Sabres’ 16th all-time head coach.
Sabres New Coach
Ron Rolston will take over as the Buffalo Sabres interim head coach for the rest of the season. Rolston is the coach of the Sabres farm team, the Rochester Americans, and has met the Sabres players already as of Wednesday night (February 20).
