Yesterday we told you that the old 219 bridge that for many years was the main connection for travelers heading to Ellicottville from Springville was going to be imploded.  This morning it happened.  Watch footage of the implosion here.

When I was growing up, there was a big debate in Springville on whether or not the state should continue the 219 expansion project beyond the Village of Springville.  A few years ago, the project began and the highway was extended a few miles up the road over the Cattaraugus Creek Gorge.  Now, there is an old bridge that used to connect Springville to Cattaraugus that needs to be replaced. Church might have a different look to it if you attend services in the Village of Springville this Sunday.  It looks as though there is a power outage coming.

This is real life. Imagine being a police officer and having to pull someone over and realizing their plates aren't working in the system. She has no front license plate, just a back one so you go to the back to brush off the snow on it and it's a painted piece of cardboard to look like a New York license plate...

Ian Baker has set a record at Springville High School. The full back rushed for 6 touchdowns last Friday night during a locally televised game against Southwestern.

High school football - It's what we used to LIVE for when I lived in Springville.  It was with good reason.  It was exciting to get out on that field on a friday night under the lights.  People would talk about the chances of a championship at the barber shop and at the grocery store.  This is my hometown.

I was born and raised in Springville. I lived there for about 25 years and never knew the significance behind the term "Fiddler's Green." It's in the name of one of the town's nursing homes, a park and now a bluegrass festival that is coming back this Saturday.

My buddy's brother and sister-in-law own a dairy farm down in Springville, which is not easy work by any means. But I was like a kid in a candy shop when I got to go around the farm (until I nearly volunteered myself to work).

Fall is such a fantastic time of the year!  The leaves are changing colors, the smell of apple cider is in the air, and the autumn air is crisp.  Definitely my favorite time!  With this time of the year rolls in the fall festivities!  Take time this weekend to enjoy the fall!
