The Hollywood Entertainment website Deadline.com reports NBC is working on a spin-off for the hit comedy "The Office" for next year.  It would star Rainn Wilson's character, Dwight Schrute.

As NBC finalizes the short list of pilots it will pick up for next season, rumors of other shows in development are beginning to surface. Sources are now confirming that there is an ‘Office’ spinoff based on Dwight Schrute’s life on the family farm in the works for 2013.

NBC's hourlong season finale of 'The Office' is May 19 and Michael Scott's job is still up for the taking. Now, EW.com reports that Jim Carrey will join the roster of guest stars playing various candidates who want to follow in Steve Carell's footsteps.
