University of Buffalo Bulls

The Texas Tech Red Raiders dominated UB on the men's side enroute to a 78-58 men while the the women were beaten by one of the best teams in the country over the past two decades. The University of Connecticut eliminated UB 84-74.

It gave coach Nate Oates a victory in his first head to head match-up with Bobby Hurley, the guy who hired him when Hurley came to UB. Hurley complimented Oates on how hard his team played.

The Bulls will play the winner of the Arizona State/St. John's play-in game in Dayton, Ohio. Those two schools were the last at-large teams chosen for the tournament.

The Bulls remain among the Top-25 college basketball teams in the nation for the 13th straight week.

The Bulls have been selected to play in the Dollar General Bowl against Troy of the Sun Belt Conference

Northern Illinois scored three unanswered touchdowns including the winning score with just over a minute to play to complete their comeback

In the latest Associated Press Top 25 Football poll the Bulls received enough votes to place them 35th in the country and that was before Tuesday night's victory.

They're calling it One Buffalo Day - it's this Saturday at UB Stadium where the UB Bulls host Kent State in a 3:30 kickoff.  It's One Buffalo Day because Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres alumni along with Billy Buffalo and Sabretooth.  Plus Buffalo Bandits star and National Lacrosse League MVP Dhane Smith will be signing autographs in the One Buffalo Tent.
